We offer a particularly efficient form of integrated leadership development, which combines bespoke change leadership skilling with delivery against key organisational change objectives.
Our approach goes way beyond off-site development modules and standard executive coaching. Instead, we aim to rapidly build 'stretch' change leadership skills through strategically-targeted support for leaders working 'live' issues. We thereby deliver significantly more value, quicker, than most development programmes.
Our goal is to deliver evident shifts in leaders' skills and behaviours, as well as measurable impacts on organisational performance, within 6-9 months.
We do this via the following, flexible approach:
- Scoping the leadership challenge: Each senior leader brings a major change challenge or project that s/he is leading; we agree goals for the change work itself, and define the leadership skills/behaviours required to deliver guided by our Change Leadership Stretch model.
- Light-touch leadership diagnostic: We identify each leader's current change leadership strengths and weaknesses - using our Rapid Change Leadership Skills Diagnostic - and identify development priorities.
- Structured advice and coaching: We provide ‘just-in-time’ advice and coaching, structured around key stages of the leader’s Change Leadership Pathway
- Targeted support for strategic moves: At the leader's invitation, we spot strategic opportunities to maximise both learning and organisational change impact - and get alongside these key pieces of work, supporting and witnessing the leader in action, and offering immediate feedback.
- Fast-track learning in facilitated groups: Leaders deepen their learning and integration of new skills by periodically joining 3-11 other change leaders in a facilitated form of learning exchange and ‘co-coaching’ - stimulated, where required, by short, sharp teaching inputs.
- Scalable model : We build internal capacity to facilitate and deliver these sessions, as well as aligned skill-building for next-level leaders, as required.
- Maximising development: We can bring additional ‘stretch’ inputs to leaders – depending on need and interest. These vary from innovative off-site experiences to deeper, psychotherapeutic explorations.
- Delivering multiple, value-adding outcomes: We support leaders to measure their progress against the change objectives of the wider work – as well as against their own leadership development objectives. We also offer simple, elegant ways of tracking organisation-wide leadership shifts.
Recent work includes:
- working collaboratively with the central HR team to design and run a global leadership development programme, which included facilitating Action Learning Sets for international groups of Director-level managers to help them apply leadership lessons to the live issues they were facing in agreeing and implementing the company strategy.
- partnering with the Senior HR Team of a manufacturing company to design and deliver a flexible senior leadership programme, which boosted core leadership skills, and developed new skills in dialogue, coaching and framing, while catalysing the delivery of significant individual change projects. Facilitated learning sets, and co-designed yearly senior level leadership conference.
- developing more productive leadership skills and behaviours through five tiers of management at manufacturing site within FTSE 100 business
